Christmas time again!

I am now writing my annual blog as I just don't get the time to write them every month as I first intended when I opened my Norwegian home Bakeri in June 2019.

This year has been very busy as I continue to try to juggle the day job which covers the costs of the Bakeri and baking which can be difficult to manage at times.

I ran a couple of Norwegian baking courses between May-July which were really successful, and my guests went home laden with their beautiful bakes which they were very proud of!

I have continued to have a stall at Corsham Creative Market eight times a year and it is lovely to chat to all my customer friends who come to visit. The market is on the first Saturday of each month at Springfield Campus in Corsham between 11:00-15:00. There are many stalls with a range of skilled craftspeople, and it is a lovely event to visit.

Last year I was delighted to be accepted into Lowden Garden Centre's Christmas Market, Atworth in Wiltshire which is such a lovely Christmas Market over three days, Friday ticketed event and open for all Saturday and Sunday and takes place in November. I was fortunate to get a space this year on 15-17 November and I had a great time with the staff from Lowden's Farm Shop and Restaurant - I will be getting my form in again for November 2025 as soon as they are sent out.

I had one trip to Oslo over the August bank holiday to buy pearl sugar and vanilla sugar as well as to meet up with friends. I took a trip to Fredrikstad to meet up with a friend, the weather was amazing and so hot I got sunburn! The rest of the trip was spent in Oslo when I also visited SOS Barnebyer in Asker on another rather hot day, I was very worried the chocolates I bought for the team would melt in the heat but fortunately this did not happen which was a relief!

I am now prepping for the last market of the year which will be Corsham Creative Market on 7th December and then I will be taking leave from my day job so that from 14th December I can focus on baking and getting the postal hampers out by Monday 16th December. So please get in touch if you would like a bespoke present of Norwegian traditional Christmas bakes sent by post or collected.

Next year, I am hoping to extend the Bakeri to include its own restroom as well as a dining area which will make the guests experience more enjoyable. The building work is anticipated to take place during the summer, and I hope to be able to relaunch the Christmas baking courses in Autumn 2025.

Thank you to all my customer friends who provide me with such great feedback and friendship and I look forward to another busy year in 2025!
